Massimiliano G. Falcone - CEO; External Relations
Born in 1971, Massimiliano holds a Master Degree in Business and Administration at Bocconi University and a Phd in Psychology of communication, and is a researcher in neuroscience and neuromarketing.
Communication strategist at the World Bank Group Connect4Climate coalition, over the past 18 years Massimiliano have had the privilege to work on a broad array of projects dedicated to improving understanding and collaboration between diverse stakeholders.
At the same time, he focused on building innovative partnerships with organizations and leaders in both the public and private sectors in Italy, Europe, and the Far East.
Massimiliano also worked for Reuters, for the Italian Council and as an entrepreneur.
As from 2005, he also joined the academic world as a professor of Public Affairs and International Marketing and Communication, teaching at and collaborating with Italian universities; he is a professor at IULM University since 2006.
In 2016 Massimiliano applied neuroscience to design and inspired by his actitivities with innbvators for sustainability registered the three patents and founded Altaii Italia to research and apply innovations coming from the interesection of different disciplines: artisanal workmanship, psychology, anthtropology, design, physics, engineering, ICT etc to enhance research through a continuous design thinking approach.
Sebastiano Falcone - Materials & Plant Manager
Born in 1944, Sebastiano moved to Selb and Meissen, Germany, in 1964, studying and training porcelain materials manufacturing in the place where the European porcelain was invented.
In 1964 he joined Richard Ginori and coordinated the production process of the new plant in Abruzzo.
In the meanwhile Sebastiano started his own laboratory and in 1993 he created the factory Stile Mediterraneo, which is supporting Altaii Italia with porcelain manufacturing.
Paolo Tripodi - Chief Scientific Officer (CSO)
Born in 1963, Paolo holds a Degree in Nuclear Energy and a Degree in Computing Science
Master Degree in Physics, Paolo is the scientifical aim of Altaii Italia.
He works in scientific and technological research since 1986: INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), INFM (National Institute of Condensed Matter), ENEA (Government Agency), APAT (Environmental Protection Agency), University of Roma II, and international experiment for MITI (Japanese Ministry of Industry), SRI (Stanford Research Institute), IMRA MATERIAL (Toyota SPV), TANAKA K.K.
Throughout his career he has developed seven patent applications related to the physical-chemical property of matter and technologies for environment, and has published more than 100 scientific papers. In 2016 he joined Altaii Italia contributing to the success of the first two patents for smart nutrition.
He is founder and VP of A.I.C.O. a no-profit NGO developing projects to help disadvantaged people, especially children and founder of Is TECH, Altaii’s partners for smart living solutions.
Donato Orlandi - Research & Development director at the Gran Sasso Laboratory – Altaii Italia Lab
Born in 1976, Donato holds a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering
AD/CAE/CAM Engineer Gran Sasso National Laboratory INFN, Mechanical Engineering
Donato designs detectors for the INFN experiments in astro-particles physics and coordinates the Addicitive manufacturing Laboratory at the INFN; expert of Finite Elements Method Simulations in Mechanics (statics and dynamics) and Fluid Dynamics and of of multi-axis robotized systems, he coordinates Altaii’s research and development of new shapes and technologies for smart living and prototyping
Graziano Meloni - Co-design and Business Development for North America
Born in Rome, Graziano holds a Business and Management Engineering Master Degree and is specialized in Business and Brand Strategy, integrated marketing and business process re-design. After 14 years in strategy consulting, from 2001 to present, Graziano opened a branch of Altaii in New York City, where he manages a design hub in Brooklyn relating with 3D makers and designers. Graziano coordinates the co-design web platform for the company.
La bottega - Gli artigiani
Dodici artigiani lavorano gli impasti di caolini e feldspati per la cottura della porcellana, modellano forme, dipingono a mano le grafiche e manovrano due altiforni per la cottura a 1500 gradi presso gli stabilimenti di Stile Mediterraneo, insediati nel 1993 nel distretto della ceramica di Rapino (attivo dal 1800).
Il sistema di produzione ha un miscelatore per la preparazione degli impasti, silos per immagazzinare la materia prima, sistemi di test termodinamici e di analisi chimica, nastri trasportatori e due forni a 1200 gradi per la lavorazione grafica, oltre a torni e pennelli per le decorazioni manuali. L’attività tradizionale della “bottega” consiste nella produzione tableware e oggettistica in porcellana feldspatica dura, design e decorazione di tableware in porcellana, ceramica, vetro.
Da 30 anni la bottega svolge anche attività di ricerca e sviluppo di forme e nuovi materiali ceramici, offrendo la possibilità così di realizzare in porcellana i prototipi, studiati e stampati in 3D presso il laboratorio del Gran Sasso. Gli articoli terminati sono controllati singolarmente, per poi tornare presso l’Istituto di Fisica Nucleare, dove viene processata la parte tecnologica in camere del vuoto, con robot scultori e sistemi laser di fissaggio.
